Tottenham Hotspur could sell Eric Dier in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.

The report published at 7:06pm today has named Dier among four defenders who could leave Spurs this summer.

Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez and Serge Aurier could also be sold.

Surprise name?

Dier was not at his best last season, but it is a surprise that Tottenham could reportedly sell him.

The England international is a versatile footballer who can play as a central defender and in defensive midfield.

Now, Spurs have a new manager.

Sure, Nuno will want to bring in his own players and may not rate Dier highly.

However, Tottenham should think carefully before offloading Dier.

The 27-year-old has been at Tottenham since 2014 and is a senior figure in the team.

Dier is going to hit his peak soon, and manager Nuno could use his experience and versatility.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that Dier has been linked with a move away from Spurs.

In May 2021, The Times reported that Mauricio Pochettino, then in charge of Spurs, wanted to sell the Englishman in the summer of 2019 after the Champions League final.
