When a man with Max Allegri’s glittering reputation is calling you the best on planet earth, you know you’ve done something right.

And considering that Alex Sandro has played a vital role as Juventus have consolidated themselves as the dominant force of Italian football, it should be no surprise that the four-time Serie A champion is held in such high regard by one of the most successful managers of the modern era.

“He’s extraordinary,” Allegri told Serie A of the Brazil international during the height of his trophy-laden Juve career.

“He’s improved so much since he came to Juve and he has the margins to improve again. Along with (Real Madrid legend) Marcelo, he’s the best in the world.”

Allegri, however, is not the only renowned tactician in the Alex Sandro fan club. Jose Mourinho has been admiring the former Porto left-back from afar for a number of years now, watching him hone his considerable talents at the Estadio do Dragao before taking his game to a whole new level in Turin.

And, according to Tuttomercatoweb, Mourinho could get his man at long last this summer.

Tottenham are in negotiations over a swap deal that could see Sandro move to north London with Serge Aurier, the improving yet always erratic Ivory Coast international, potentially heading in the other direction.

Mourinho currently has the stable, steady Ben Davies and the promising Ryan Sessegnon to choose from at left-back. But the ‘exceptional’ Sandro would represent a sizeable upgrade in almost every single department.
