Jorge Mendes has reportedly approached Tammy Abraham over a potential move to replace Harry Kane at Tottenham this summer. Antonio Conte once claimed Abraham had “great potential”, when Chelsea manager in 2016.
Abraham, 24, joined Jose Mourinho’s Roma last summer for a fee north of £30million and is enjoying his time in Italy – scoring 23 goals in 40 games. While only 15 have come in Serie A, he has seven in eight league outings.
Now, The Athletic report that Abraham has been approached by super agent Mendes – along with Darwin Nunez – as a potential replacement for Kane. The England skipper is being strongly linked with Manchester United.
Abraham has the potential to return to Chelsea, with Football Italia claiming the Blues inserted a £67million buyback clause for the summers of 2022 and 2023. Conte is clearly a fan, judging by his praise in 2016.
“Abraham is another young player who is the future for Chelsea, for sure,” Conte said six years ago, as per The Mail. “He has great potential in the technical and physical aspects. I think the academy is working very well.”

Kane is playing as a 10 and a nine at Spurs. His goals are just as good as any striker at the moment, but he is creating goals for Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski and more. Not many players can play as two, at the same time.
Selling Kane would see Spurs bring in a fee well north of £100million. It would be impossible to replace the England skipper, but a striker of Abraham’s quality and a playmaker of the similar level would go some way.
