Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on Dijon midfielder Kwon Chang-hoon.
The summer transfer window is fast approaching, and Tottenham Hotspur are already being linked with new signings as a result.
With no silverware for another year, Tottenham face a key summer, and manager Mauricio Pochettino must be backed with new signings to boost his squad.
A new midfielder has to be a priority whether Mousa Dembele leaves or not, and Mercato 365 in France report that Spurs scouted Dijon midfielder Kwon Chang-hoon in action against Lyon on Friday night.
The 23-year-old has hit nine goals and two assists in 30 Ligue 1 appearances this season, and could reunite with South Korean international teammate Son Heung-min with a move to Spurs.
However, Spurs could be multiplying their problems with a move for Kwon, given that he would be subject to the same mandatory military service imposed on all South Korean men.
Between the ages of 18 and 35, all South Korean men are required to complete between 21 and 24 months of military service, and most tend to go before the age of 30, with Spurs concerned about losing Son for nearly two years.
The same rules would apply to Kwon, and whilst the London Evening Standard report that Tottenham have held talks about allowing Son to play in the Asian Games later this year in a bid to prevent him from fulfilling military service, adding another South Korean player would give Spurs the same headache.
If given assurances that Son would be exempt from military service upon competing in the Asian Games, then Spurs may well look to sign Kwon and attempt to strike a similar compromise, but Tottenham must be wary of adding to their worries this summer.
