Two Tottenham Hotspur targets Ivan Perisic and Anthony Martial could end up switching clubs.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked this week with impressive moves for Ivan Perisic and Anthony Martial.

FC Inter News reported surprise interest in Inter Milan winger Perisic, while The Telegraph report Manchester United’s Martial is a priority target, despite his £60 million valuation.

Either one, let alone both, would be terrific signings for Tottenham and make them a lot more dangerous.

But the nightmare scenario would be a carve-up between United and Inter, cutting Tottenham out entirely.

United had strong interest in Perisic last summer, but Inter made clear they would only sell for Martial in exchange.

This brought a halt to negotiations, but after a difficult season for Martial, the deal could be back on.

Calciomercato reported earlier this month that the possibility of a swap has been ‘reignited’, with United in a tough spot with Martial due to his expiring contract.

Both players have scored 10 goals for their clubs, and are due as it stands to play in the Champions League next season.

Martial is the younger of the two and Inter would be smart to try and secure his signature, even at Perisic’s expense.

Tottenham hope they can persuade United to sell Martial, possibly by doing a deal involving Toby Alderweireld, but United may feel that Perisic, admired greatly by Jose Mourinho, is the player they would rather have.
