Young Tottenham and England striker continues to build a positive reputation.

Sterling was picked out by coach John McDermott after the game for the constant threat he created, and was hailed as the match’s dominant player.

McDermott told Tottenham’s website: “Kazaiah Sterling was a stand-out player in the game.

“I thought he dominated their two central defenders and was a key factor in our success. He went through for his goal showing real composure after working hard and tussling to create his chance.”

Sterling, who turned 18 last month, posted a message on Twitter after the win, showing the squad celebrating with the trophy.

Sterling has made good progress this season at Tottenham, playing and scoring for the under-23 side.
