Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with re-signing Christian Eriksen – and he has praised both Son Heung-min and Harry Kane.

Tottenham took on Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday evening, playing out a 0-0 draw in West London.

The result severely damaged Tottenham’s top-four hopes but did gave Spurs a first-hand look at Eriksen.

Eriksen started in the Brentford side and turned in a fine performance against the club that sold him in 2020.

Eriksen’s contract was running down then and Tottenham allowed him to, selling him to Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan.

Just around 18 months later, Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest whilst playing for Denmark at Euro 2020, putting his career and life in danger.

Unable to play in Serie A due to being fitted with an ICD, Eriksen joined up with Brentford and has immediately excelled.

Eriksen hasn’t missed a step and was at his creative best in a superb performance against Tottenham on Saturday.

At full time, Eriksen went over to share an emotional moment with the travelling Tottenham fans who haven’t seen him in person since before the global pandemic started.

Eriksen’s impressive performance against Tottenham comes just as rumours about a return to North London swirl.

90Min claim that Tottenham are confident of re-signing Eriksen on a free transfer given that he is only under contract with Brentford until the summer.

Conte worked with Eriksen in Italy and an emotional return to Tottenham could seriously be on the cards.

After the game against Tottenham, Eriksen told Sky Sports that he felt Spurs played as he expected on Saturday.

Eriksen added that both Son and Kane are ‘exceptional’ players so Brentford had to deal with both of them well.

“I think we knew what they were coming with,” said Eriksen. “I’ve played with Conte, I know the system he would like to play and I think we trained in the week up to the game how they would play, and they played the way we expected.”

“I think our team did very well to keep them down, obviously Harry and Son are two exceptional players and they have a good team and a good structure so of course we need to be sharp,” he added.

Eriksen used to be a key part of the Tottenham side with Son and Kane, and we could yet see it again with Spurs chasing a deal.
