Tottenham Hotspur are the club most interested in signing Brentford star Christian Eriksen this summer as they pursue a potential reunion.
That’s according to iNews, who report that Brentford are keen to give Eriksen a long-term deal in West London.
Eriksen joined Brentford having been released by Inter Milan. Eriksen wasn’t permitted to play in Italy after being fitted with an ICD following his cardiac arrest at Euro 2002.
Brentford have certainly benefited from their gamble on Eriksen, picking up an assist against Burnley and a goal against Chelsea.
It now looks like Brentford will be staying in the Premier League and Eriksen is certainly playing a big part.
Yet having only signed a contract until the end of the season there is now a real chance that Eriksen ends up moving on.
It’s stated that Manchester United are keen but Tottenham are actually the club paying the most attention to the Dane’s performances for Brentford.
Eriksen is prepared to wait until the end of the season to decide his future but wants to stay in England rather than move on to Spain.
That gives Tottenham major hope of signing Eriksen – and he has history with Antonio Conte.
Conte signed Eriksen for Inter Milan back in January 2020, and whilst it took a while for the Dane to get used to Conte’s intensity, he ended up thriving in Italy.
Conte may now be able to reunite with Eriksen at Tottenham, where the Dane was a fan favourite following a 2013 move from Ajax.

Hailed as ‘amazing’ by Mauricio Pochettino, Eriksen racked up 69 goals and 90 assists in 305 appearances for Tottenham.
You do though have to wonder just where Eriksen fits into this Tottenham side.
When Eriksen played under Conte at Inter, it was usually as one of three midfielders, allowing him to get forward and be creative.
Conte is playing a 3-4-2-1 at Tottenham though, and Eriksen isn’t quite suited to playing in a midfield two.
Eriksen returning to Tottenham would be incredibly emotional, but whether he would play regular first-team football is another matter.
