Chris Perkins is leaving Tottenham Hotspur and is in talks with bitter rivals Arsenal after rejecting a return to Everton.

That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Perkins is set to leave his role as Head of Emerging Talent at Tottenham.

Perkins joined from Everton back in October 2021 having been identified as the man to help Tottenham sign players aged between 17 and 21.

Will Lankshear’s summer arrival appears to be working well whilst Tyrell Ashcroft and goalkeeper Josh Keeley have also arrived.

Yet Perkins now seemingly wants to leave Tottenham and is on the verge of a move to Arsenal.

It’s stated that Perkins will take up a new role as head of Arsenal’s academy recruitment – and will start that role next month.

Everton did make a push to try and bring Perkins back but he has rejected that move in favour or Arsenal.

This may not exactly be Sol Campbell leaving Tottenham for Arsenal but it’s still a controversial move and one Spurs won’t be happy with just over a year since Perkins arrived.

Who is Tottenham man and Arsenal target Chris Perkins?

Perkins landed his first major recruitment job in 2014 as he became Head of Academy Recruitment at Derby County.

Perkins oversaw a number of players emerging at Pride Park and his work was recognised by Everton.

The Toffees lured Perkins to Goodison Park in March 2020 and were hoping he would bring in a number of quality youngsters.

Imam Jagne came and went relatively quickly but there are high hopes for Francis Okoronkwo, snapped up from Sunderland just a month before Perkins quit for Tottenham.

This is more upheaval for the Tottenham scouting and recruitment department.

Brian Carey and Steve Hitchen left the club last season with Gretar Steinsson and Leonardo Gabbanini coming in to work alongside Fabio Paratici (above).

Arsenal will feel like this is a very smart deal and causing some problems for Tottenham will always be nice for the red side of North London.
