According to The London Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur will wait until the final days of the summer transfer window before making a move for Manchester United forward Anthony Martial.

It has been reported that Tottenham are interested in signing Martial from Premier League rivals United this summer.

Spurs, though, will not make a move for the France international forward next week, according to the report, which also claims that the North London club’s chairman Daniel Levy could move for the youngster in the final days of the summer transfer window.

Martial has left United’s pre-season tour of the USA to fly to France to attend the birth of his second child, and has told his teammates that he will not return to America for the final two pre-season friendly matches, according to The Times.

Tottenham chairman Levy is playing a dangerous and risky game regarding Martial, as waiting until the final days of the summer transfer window may not yield the desired result.

With Chelsea also interested in the 22-year-old France international, as reported by The London Evening Standard, Spurs could miss out on the youngest if they leave it too late.

Moreover, United could decide not to cash in on Martial and could just keep him at Old Trafford, as selling him to Tottenham would only see them strengthen one of the main rivals for the Premier League title next season.
