Tottenham U23s boss Wayne Burnett saw Spurs prodigy Troy Parrott score twice against Man City’s U23s at the Tottenham Hotspur Arena on Friday night.

Tottenham Hotspur Under-23s manager Wayne Burnett has commented on Troy Parrott’s display in Friday’s Premier League 2 win over Manchester City’s U23s and gave an insight into his personality which suggests he has what it takes to succeed at Spurs not only from a talent perspective but also one of attitude.
The 17-year-old stole the show in Friday night’s 3-1 win as he weighed in with two goals against the Citizens’ U23s, opening the scoring on 35 minutes at the Tottenham Hotspur Arena as he turned on the edge of the box and curled a left-footed effort into the top corner of the net.
Paris Maghoma weighed in with a great outside-of-the-box effort on the stroke of half time before Parrott was given the chance to add a third from the penalty spot and duly smashed a Harry Kane-esque spot-kick into the top-right corner of the City net.
“Troy has come in and scored two goals,” Burnett told the official Tottenham website. “He took his first goal very well but he certainly won’t get above himself.

“He’s a very level-headed young man but I’m pleased for him and the other players that they could come here to play at this wonderful stadium and give a good account of themselves.”
Parrott, who signed his first professional Tottenham deal on his birthday in February, is regarded as one of the Lilywhites’ most highly rated young prospects, scoring an impressive 15 goals in 12 Under-18 matches last term, and is certainly going from strength to strength this term, so no wonder that many feel the sky’s the limit for the talented marksman.
