Jose Mourinho has told Football London that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has impressed him in training recently.
Ndombele came off the bench last night and helped Tottenham turn the tie around against Lokomotiv Plovdiv in Europa League qualifying.
Spurs faced the threat of actually losing to the unfancied Bulgarian outfit when they fell behind in the second-half.
But Ndombele helped to spark a Tottenham revival with his creative passing from midfield.
Ndombele started and finished the move, as Spurs scored their winning goal late on.
And Mourinho says that although he doubted Ndombele before, he has now been won over by Tottenham’s record signing.

“Tanguy is in a process of evolution,” Mourinho said.
“Last season he wasn’t. He was tucked in a situation where I couldn’t see evolution. Now he is in a moment where he is training very, very well.
“Today he gave us what we needed in the last 30 minutes. Now I believe in Tanguy. I never doubted his ability but last season I doubted his effort and motivation. Now I think that Tanguy can do well for us.”
Mourinho’s comments will surely be music to the ears of Tottenham supporters, who have been urging the Portuguese boss to pick Ndombele more often.
The former Lyon man is arguably Tottenham’s most technically gifted player, and if he can improve on his work off the ball then he could still turn out to be an excellent signing for the Lilywhites, despite a difficult first season at the club.
