Tottenham Hotspur have a hugely important game to come on Wednesday night against Borussia Dortmund.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media yesterday in the aftermath of his side’s win over Leicester, and embarked on somewhat of a rant, highlighting how frustrating it is for him that his team were made to play just three days before their huge Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night, as quoted by Football.London.
Spurs will have just 72 hours to recover in time for Wednesday’s clash with Dortmund, whilst the Bundesliga outfit have 96 hours between matches.
In truth, it does seem like English clubs are always up against it in Europe due to the manner in which games are scheduled, and this year is no different.
Pochettino made his feelings on the matter very clear, when speaking to reporters yesterday, responding when asked whether he is concerned that fatigue could be an issue for his side, as quoted by Football.London:

“Yes, of course. I was telling your colleague before about how upset I am. I feel so embarrassed because I can accept to play today if Dortmund play today and then we play Wednesday, but I cannot understand why we’re playing with a massive disadvantage. Twenty-four hours in this type of competition, the last 16, is a massive disadvantage.”
Tottenham will undoubtedly still be competitive against Lucien Favre’s men, and Pochettino will be hoping that his side can summon that little bit extra, despite having less recovery time than the Germans.
