Tottenham Hotspur will face Rochdale in the next round of the FA Cup.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s 2-0 FA Cup fourth round replay win over Newport County yesterday, and responded to questions asking him whether he has seen the state of Rochdale’s pitch, as quoted by popular football news website Football.London.
Tottenham will head to Spotland to take on the League One outfit in the fifth round of the FA Cup, just four days after they travel to Turin for their Champions League tie with Juventus.

Pochettino will not need to remind his players how difficult games away to lower league opposition can be – they only need to look back to their clash with Newport at Rodney Parade, where it could be argued that they were actually lucky to earn a replay.
The Argentine spoke to reporters in the aftermath of yesterday’s win over Newport, and shared what he has heard about the state of Rochdale’s pitch, as quoted by popular football news website Football.London:

“I hear that it was not in the best condition, but I think it was like Newport. I think we need to learn from Newport, the condition will be [bad] for us but it will be the same for them too. We will see. I haven’t seen it yet because I always prefer to be focused on the game and then see what happens in the next.”
Before Tottenham can even think about Rochdale, they have arguably their two most important games of the season to contend with – Arsenal at home in the league followed by Juventus away in Europe.
Those two games will surely push Spurs to the limit, and Pochettino will most likely rotate his squad accordingly for their game at Spotland.
