Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has suggested to Football.London that there has been no breakthrough in negotiations with talks over a new contract with Christian Eriksen.

According to The Times, talks over a new contract between Eriksen and Tottenham are at an impasse.

The Denmark international attacking midfielder is out of contract in the summer of 2020, according to Transfermarkt.com.

Spurs manager Pochettino has said that there has no progress in talks over a new deal with the 26-year-old.

Pochettino told Football.London when asked for an update on Eriksen’s future: “No news. Everything is in the same place as months ago.”

Worrying for Tottenham Hotspur fans?

With Eriksen’s contract not running out until the end of next season, Tottenham do have enough time to hammer out an agreement over a new contract with the Denmark international.

However, Spurs fans will be worried about the future of the former Ajax star, who is one of the best and most creative players in the world.

If Tottenham are unable to agree on a new deal before the end of the season, then big clubs from Europe could make bids for Eriksen in the summer of 2019.
