Tottenham Hotspur were reportedly offered the Udinese winger.

According to a report from Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato, Tottenham have passed up on the opportunity to sign Udinese ace Rodrigo De Paul, but will Mauricio Pochettino live to regret that decision?
The 24-year-old Argentina international has been in fine form in Italy this season, chalking up six goals and three assists in 20 Serie A outings thus far.
The winger, who has earned four caps for his country, is a real live-wire, and he would surely have brought some much-needed quality competition for places to Spurs’ attacking line-up.
De Paul is incredibly quick, and he is one of the most hard working attacking wide players in the game.
His playing style is quintessentially South American, and he seems to be tailor made for the Premier League, what with its robust and psychically demanding nature.
The 24-year-old also has an excellent end product, so it is hard to understand why Tottenham would have passed up not he opportunity to sign him for just £21.4 million.

Pochettino does have Heung-Min Son back available after his Asia Cup exertions, but Harry Kane and Dele Alli will be out until at least early March, so his attacking options are still extremely limited.
The Argentine has never been a manager who panics, however, and it seems more likely than ever that Tottenham fans will have to wait until the summer before they see any new faces brought into the football club.
