Tottenham Hotspur failed to sign the striker yesterday.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media today, ahead of his side’s clash with Newcastle tomorrow, and responded when asked whether he was disappointed not to have signed Michy Batshuayi on transfer deadline day, as quoted by Football.London.
Spurs have not signed a single player now for over a year, and many of the club’s fans are angered by Pochettino’s lack of transfer activity.
It is hard to criticise Tottenham, however.
They have been quite simply magnificent over the past few years, and they remain very much in the hunt for the Premier League title this season, with just seven points separating them from league leaders Liverpool.
Pochettino spoke to reporters today, and refused to admit that he is at all unhappy with the options that he has available to him, responding when asked whether he was upset with the fact that Spurs failed to sign Batshuayi, as quoted by Football.London:

“No. There were many reports and rumours. I cannot talk about the different situation, we were waiting for different situations that may happen. I think nothing to say about that rumour, I think we were open to add players and quality to help us achieve in three months to be in competition and achieve what we want, but we cant add that quality.”
At the end of the day, Tottenham will be judged on what they have done come May, and if they fail to win a trophy once again, there will be even more questions asked regarding the club’s transfer policy.
