Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters after his side’s progression through to the knock-out stages of the Champions League, and took time to praise the job being done by Daniel Levy with regards to the club’s move to their new stadium, as quoted by Football.London.

Spurs have been playing all of their home games at Wembley since the start of last term, but there were supposed to move into their new home at the start of this season.

Work on the 62,000 capacity arena has overrun, however, and latest reports suggest that Tottenham will now have to wait until February at the earliest before they can move into their fabulous new stadium.

Pochettino spoke to reporters on Tuesday night, and took time to praise his chairman Daniel Levy, suggesting that he deserves great credit for the work he has done behind the scenes, as quoted by Football.London:

“I also want to say that Daniel Levy should be so happy. I want to congratulate him. He’s putting in a massive effort, trying to deliver and finish the stadium. Sometimes it’s easy to get the praise, the coaching staff, the players and the fans but I think he, and all the board, deserve massive congratulations because they’re putting in a massive effort, building what is for me one of the best stadiums in the world. I think I want to congratulate him and this achievement.”

Tottenham currently sit in third position in the Premier League table, just six points adrift of league leaders Liverpool, and they must surely be considered as genuine challengers for the Premier League title now.

And the sooner that they move into their new stadium, the better.

Spurs are on the verge of becoming a real force in the Premier League, and their magnificent 62,000 arena might just be the final piece of the jigsaw.
