Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho has told Football.London that he does not know when Giovani Lo Celso will be back from injury.
Lo Celso is on the sidelines at the moment due to a hamstring injury he suffered against Leicester City before Christmas.
Mourinho told Football.London: “Gio is injured. I don’t know for how long but he is not playing in the next few weeks, it is not a simple situation, he is not going to play in the next few weeks.”
Blow for Tottenham Hotspur
Lo Celso is a very good midfielder who is an important figure in the Tottenham team.
The 24-year-old Argentina international has made four starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for Spurs so far this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.
Lo Celso has also made four starts and one substitute appearance in the Europa League for Spurs this campaign, scoring two goals in the process, according to WhoScored.
It is a blow for Spurs that the Argentine will miss the next few weeks. True, Tottenham have a strong and deep squad and are doing well at the moment, but Mourinho would like to have all of his players fit and available.
Tottenham are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 29 points from 16 matches.
