Christian Eriksen is considered to be a key player for Tottenham Hotspur.
Speaking to reporters during his pre-match press conference, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino highlighted an area of Christian Eriksen’s game where he must improve, if he is to move up into the elite group of players, as quoted by Sky Sports.
The 24-year-old Denmark international has proved to be a superb signing for Tottenham, after making his £12.5 million switch to White Hart Lane in the summer of 2013, but still receives criticism from some factions of the Spurs faithful for his failure to influence big games.

And Pochettino echoed that sentiment, when speaking to the media, and highlighted certain aspects of the Dane’s game which need improving, if he is to move up to the next level, as quoted by Sky Sports:
“He is an elite player. It’s true that he is young and can improve, but I think he is a very good player. Does he dominate games enough? That is a challenge for him. Maybe we need to go further and try to assess his personality, character, his position on the pitch, his quality.”

On paper, Eriksen has actually enjoyed a productive season so far with Spurs, having scored five goals along with registering four assists in 15 Premier League outings for his club.
As Pochettino said though, if he is to be considered as a truly great player, he must have more of a direct influence on games against the teams in and around them in the league table.
