Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen has struggled to fill the boots of Harry Kane during his absence through injury.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was adamant that he is not worried by the form of Vincent Janssen, and likened his current situation to some of the goal-droughts endured by Harry Kane, as quoted by the Evening Standard.
The Dutchman has scored just once in 12 outings for Tottenham since his £17 million move from AZ Alkmaar in the summer, and is yet to open his account in either the Premier League or the Champions League.
Pochettino was speaking to reporters ahead of his side’s game against Bournemouth on Saturday, and offered his view on Janssen’s current struggles, as quoted by the Evening Standard:

“Janssen has been unlucky at times. Similar things happened with Harry. We need to give young players time. We and he would be happier if he was scoring but it’s a normal process.”
Kane has certainly gone through tough times himself during the last two years.
Before suffering an injury in September, he managed only two goals in seven outings this term.
During the 2015/16 campaign, the 23-year-old England international had to wait until September 26th to bag his first Premier League goal, before going on to win the Golden Boot with 25 league goals.

The season before that, it wasn’t until November 2nd before Kane opened his Premier League account.
Spurs fans will be hoping that Janssen follows his teammate’s lead, and proves the doubters wrong by helping fire his side to the top of the table.
