Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte may be concerned with his squad, but Ben Davies appears to be one player making an impression.
Tottenham suffered humiliation on Thursday night by contriving to lose 2-1 away at NS Mura.
Being beaten by relatively unknown teams from Slovenia is exactly what Tottenham fans will have feared with the Europa Conference League.
Conte has admitted that the Tottenham squad isn’t at the level needed, but The Mirror claim that a number of players have impressed Conte.
One of the players listed is defender Davies, who has started Conte’s two Premier League games at Tottenham.
Davies was even brought on against Mura as his importance to Conte becomes clear.
Davies is naturally left footed and has experience of playing as a left-sided centre back in a three-man defence.
That’s perfect for Conte’s tactical setup, and it’s exactly where he has been utilised under the Italian.

Few could have really seen this coming.
Davies barely featured under Nuno Espirito Santo. In fact, Nuno only picked Davies in his Tottenham starting XI once in the Premier League.
The Welshman now appears to be under a manager who appreciates his game, and that left-sided centre back role seems to be his to lose.
Davies will surely start for Tottenham today as they take on Burnley, hoping to repay Conte’s faith in him.
