Barcelona want Wilfried Singo and have now contacted the Torino defender who was a prime target for Tottenham this past summer.

Tottenham really wanted to sign another right wing back over the summer.

Emerson Royal just isn’t a natural right wing back and Matt Doherty isn’t exactly the long-term answer for that position.

Wing backs are key to Antonio Conte’s approach and Tottenham did make a new signing by landing Djed Spence.

The youngster is yet to start a game for Tottenham and some will wonder what became of the other right wing backs Spurs eyed.

Barcelona want Wilfried Singo

One of them, unsurprisingly, is playing in Italy.

Fabio Paratici has a great knowledge of the Italian market and has previously brought the likes of Cristian Romero, Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski to Tottenham.

Fabrizio Romano told CBS Sports that Tottenham and Arsenal had both been scouting Torino talent Wilfried Singo on ‘countless occasions’.

Singo, 21, has emerged as one of the top young talents in Serie A and has impressed a physically imposing right wing back at 6ft 3in tall.

Three goals and four assists last season was a decent return for Singo and Tottenham seemingly had him on their radar in case Spence didn’t join.

Singo remains with Torino but it looks like his big move could be on the cards in 2023.

SPORT claim that Barcelona are desperate for a new right back and it’s suggested that they have contacted the representatives of both Diogo Dalot and Singo.

Singo is out of contract at the end of the season but Torino can extend that by an extra year, meaning they can protect themselves from losing their top talent for next to nothing.

Barcelona are seemingly positioning themselves for a move and have ‘tested’ the ground over a potential deal.

Tottenham have a logjam at right wing back with Emerson, Doherty and Spence all competing for minutes under Conte.

That means a move for Singo has surely gone now, but Tottenham could end up seeing him land a huge move to the Camp Nou next summer.
