Tottenham Hotspur’s scouting of the EFL has now brought Coventry City’s Callum O’Hare onto their radar – a player who quit Aston Villa in 2020.
That’s according to The Telegraph, who claim that Tottenham are looking towards the Football League for new signings.
Tottenham are facing problems in terms of non-homegrown spots, so need to bring in some homegrown talent this summer.
Peterborough United defender Ronnie Edwards and Nottingham Forest winger Brennan Johnson are two targets, whilst Tottenham are also looking at O’Hare.
It’s suggested that Tottenham are regularly scouting O’Hare ahead of a potential bid this summer.
O’Hare, 23, has excelled for Coventry this season. The silky playmaker – sometimes likened to Jack Grealish – has notched five goals and seven assists this term.
Primarily an attacking midfield player, O’Hare looks destined for the Premier League one day.
O’Hare is though under contract until 2024, meaning Tottenham will need to pay up if they want to convince Coventry into a deal.
If O’Hare makes a multi-million pound move to the Premier League, you can imagine that some around Aston Villa will be gutted.
Hailing from Solihull just like Grealish, O’Hare emerged through the Villa ranks but was only ever given nine first-team appearances.
Whilst Villa sold Grealish for £100million, a very different fate awaited O’Hare.

As reported by the Birmingham Mail in 2020, Villa didn’t even offer O’Hare a new contract. When his deal expired, he simply doing Coventry for free.
Christian Purslow bolded stated that players in their early 20’s weren’t really worth keeping if they weren’t in the first-team picture.
O’Hare left the club and went to hone his craft at Coventry, and is now wanted by one of the Premier League’s so-called ‘big six’ inside two years.
Hailed as ‘brilliant’ by Steven Gerrard’s cousin Anthony, you have to wonder the Villa boss thinks of this now.
O’Hare will no doubt be desperate to reach the Premier League and prove Villa wrong.
It sounds like Tottenham may just give him that chance.
