Tottenham Hotspur face Stoke City this weekend at the Bet 365 Stadium hoping to turn on the form of a few months ago.

They beat Stoke 4-0 at the end of last season, although this time around fans would likely settle for a scrappy 1-0 win and get the three points in the bag.

Ahead of the fixture Tottenham’s official twitter feed asked supporters for their comments to fill in the blanks regarding a sentence about facing Stoke – while making a pointed request to keep responses ‘sensible’.

Well this was a bit like a red flag to a bull, with twitter users often anything but sensible.

At least they tried, but here is a look at how supporters responded…

Fans are clearly prepared for their team to be involved in a physical battle, but this Tottenham team have shown they can mix it too, with the Battle of the Bridge against Chelsea a recent demonstration.

New signing Victor Wanyama is one of the most competitive tacklers in the Premier League, and deadline day addition Moussa Sissoko could also thrive in such circumstances.

As for old foe Charlie Adam, Spurs may have little to fear. The 30-year-old has not started a league game this year and is unlikely to do so tomorrow.
