Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, Graeme Bailey has been discussing Gleison Bremer amid links to Tottenham and Inter.
The journalist has been speaking to some scouts within the game about the defender’s potential move to Inter, and he says that the Serie A club believe that Bremer would actually act as an upgrade on both Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni.
Indeed, according to Bailey, those within Inter rate Bremer very highly, but he states that Chelsea and Tottenham aren’t out of the race yet.
What’s been said?
Bailey spoke about Bremer.
“An interesting defender as well who we will hear about in the coming weeks, Gleison Bremer, the Torino defender, he’s a really interesting character. It’s been emerging, and I’ve been speaking to scouts and people within the game, Inter were trying to get this guy, Inter believe he’s an upgrade on Skriniar and Bastoni, they think he’s the best defender in Italy, so keep an eye on this guy. Chelsea are in for him as well and Tottenham are in for him,” Bailey said.

Not a better fit
Bremer may be considered by those within Inter as a better player than Bastoni, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s a better fit for Tottenham.
Indeed, Spurs are desperate for a left-footed centre-back who can play on that side of a back three, and sadly, Bremer doesn’t quite fit that billing.
The Brazilian would be a brilliant replacement for Eric Dier, but for Tottenham, there are more pressing matters to attend to at the moment.
For Spurs, Bastoni would be the better fit. Of course, in an ideal world they’d get both players, but given the interest in Bremer from around Europe, that seems rather unlikely.
