Antonio Conte has been linked with Juventus but his former assistant manager Paolo Vanoli has predicted that he instead stay at Tottenham Hotspur.

Conte joined Tottenham back in November 2021, completing a big move after the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo.

Tottenham had wanted Conte before the Espirito Santo deal anyway but had finally convinced the Italian to make the move to North London.

Conte has taken Tottenham into the Champions League but it’s still a little unclear just where he can take this Spurs side.

Challenging Manchester City seems a tough ask for anybody right now, but Conte is a winner; he won’t want to just settle for the top four every year.

Maybe Tottenham can end their trophy drought under Conte but the fear will be that another club with real title ambition can prise him away from Spurs.

Rumours of late have indeed linked Conte with a move away from Tottenham.

Italian journalist Tancredi Palmieri has reported that Juventus want Conte back and had started talks to try and make that happen.

Conte was a Juventus ace as a player and then became their manager in 2011, spending three years in charge and winning the Serie A title every year.

Massimiliano Allegri finds himself under huge pressure at Juventus after a tough start to the season and Conte may be viewed as the ideal replacement.

Tottenham will of course put up a fight to keep Conte but what would the man himself think about a move back to Turin?

Paolo Vanoli will be remembered by some as a former Rangers player, but he also carved out a strong coaching career for himself.

Vanoli was part of Conte’s coaching staff with Italy, Chelsea and Inter Milan before becoming Spartak Moscow boss last year.

Conte’s former assistant has now told Tuttomercatoweb that he thinks Conte will just be focused on Tottenham rather than Juventus and seems to think that he will stay Ian North London rather than look to move on.

“He is a great coach and he is liked by all the great teams. Knowing him I think he is focused on doing well with Tottenham,” he added.
