Angers now don’t want to risk missing out on selling Mohamed-Ali Cho amid claims he was offered to Tottenham Hotspur in January.

Back in January, Sky Sports reported that Cho had been put forward to Tottenham as a potential late-window signing.

Angers were seeking a fee of £17million at the time and Tottenham chose not to strike a deal for the teenager.

That isn’t the end of it though as transfer insider Dean Jones claimed that Tottenham held a very genuine interest in Cho but felt he was too expensive.

It may well be that Fabio Paratici preferred to bide his time over Cho given his Angers contract situation.

Cho’s contract ends in 2023 and Tottenham may be positioning themselves for a summer move at a reduced price when Angers are under more pressure to sell.

A new report has emerged about Cho’s future as Le10 Sport claim that Angers don’t want to miss the opportunity to sell this summer.

Angers have been open to selling Cho in recent windows but are keener than ever to bring in a considerable fee.

Marseille have joined the race for Cho with Borussia Dortmund understood to be keen too, but Tottenham will be aware of this situation.

Cho, 18, was once bon the books at Everton before leading for Angers back in 2020.

Still able to play for England, Cho could head back to the Premier League after playing 25 Ligue 1 games this season.

Cho has only scored twice this season but has shown huge potential in France, even earning comparisons to Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.

That’s a lofty comparison for a very raw youngster, but Tottenham have to be a threat in this race.

Paratici pounced to sign a young Ligue 1 talent in Pape Matar Sarr last summer and Cho fits a similar profile in terms of his huge potential.

If that price tag drops to around £10million, don’t be surprised to see Tottenham make their move.
