Newcastle and Tottenham are just two Premier League clubs reportedly eyeing a move to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot ahead of the January window – a player that blew Moussa Sissoko away during his time at PSG.
Rabiot, 27, is starring at the World Cup. One of France’s most-important players, he will be one that France will rely on to get the job done against England. His form for Juventus this season, and then for France, has been exceptional.
The midfielder though, is out of contract at the end of the season. He has made it clear that he would be tempted by a move to the Premier League. CalcioMercato claim Newcastle are readying a super offer to sign the Juventus star.
Another report from CM said Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea are willing to meet his £166k-a-week demands. Back in 2017, Rabiot was breaking in at PSG. Sissoko was blown away by him, having played alongside Rabiot at Toulouse.
“Adrien is now starting for PSG but he had more playing time in Toulouse. And afterwards, when he returned to Paris, things stalled very quickly for him. (But) Today he shows that he is a very great player,” Sissoko said back in 2017.

Newcastle and Tottenham eye Rabiot, he blew Sissoko away
Judging by his current form, Rabiot would be a wonderful signing for any Premier League club. Even Manchester City or Arsenal, he would provide top-class cover and the potential ability to embed himself in the starting line-up.
In terms of Newcastle and Tottenham – for Spurs, they need a midfielder that combines Antonio Conte’s defensive mindset, but can have an impact in the final third. Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg do that right now.
Oliver Skipp and Yves Bissouma do not, they are holding midfielders. Rabiot can score and create. He does not suit Newcastle’s normal transfer approach but given he is on a free, they might make an exception for him.
