Spurs face off against the current Premier League leaders on Sunday.

Tottenham Hotspur host Premier League leaders Manchester City on Sunday afternoon in what is sure to be a feisty clash.
In recent seasons this fixture has had added importance with both sides striving at the top end of the table, so who has come out on top in the past five meetings?
Manchester City 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur – February 2016
Mauricio Pochettino’s men were being tipped as title contenders after an impressive run of form, but their title credentials would be severely tested at the Etihad.
After a tentative first half, Harry Kane fired home from the spot after the break after Raheem Sterling was controversially penalised for handball. City teenage striker Kelechi Iheanacho levelled with just over 15 minutes to go, but Christian Eriksen came up with the goods late on to coolly slot past Joe Hart and make a statement to the rest of the league.

Spurs also came out on top in the last meeting at White Hart Lane a year ago, coming from 1-0 down to defeat Manuel Pellegrini’s men.
Kevin de Bruyne put City ahead before Eric Dier levelled just before half-time. However, the second half saw an onslaught from the home side as goals from Toby Alderweireld, Harry Kane and Erik Lamela made it an afternoon to forget for City.

Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Manchester City – May 2015
Sergio Aguero effectively secured Manchester City a Champions League place while seriously denting Tottenham’s top-four hopes at the end of the 2014-15 season.
The Argentine swept in his 22nd Premier League goal of the campaign for what proved to be the decisive goal. In a fairly tame affair in the sun in North London, Tottenham missed several chances, with Harry Kane unable to add to his goal tally and City keeper Joe Hart superb.

By the time they lost in the above return fixture, Spurs must have been sick of the sight of Aguero. The clinical striker scored four goals and missed a penalty as City saw off Tottenham in a thrilling match at the Etihad seven months previously to keep the pressure on leaders Chelsea at the top of the Premier League.
Erik Lamela equalised two minutes after Aguero’s opener, but from then on in it was all about the Argentine. Two of Aguero’s goals came from the spot, and he went home with the match ball despite being denied a hat-trick of penalties by Hugo Lloris’s fine stop.
The crucial moment of the game was when the Lilywhites were awarded a penalty halfway through the second half only for Joe Hart to save with the game at 2-1.

City were awarded a penalty in the second half with Danny Rose being sent off in the process, and Edin Dzeko stepped up to make it three for the visitors. Etienne Capoue pulled one back for Spurs, but there was still time for City substitute Stevan Jovetic to score his first league goal since his summer move, before Vincent Kompany added a late fifth.
