Vertonghen plays with Kane for Spurs, and is Lukaku’s international teammate with Belgium, so he knows better than most the the ins and outs of both players’ games.

The 31-year-old sat down to speak with reporters today, and responded when asked to describe the main differences between the two strikers’ style of play, as quoted by the Mirror:

“Harry and Romelu are very similar, but very different. Both are very ambitions, both leaders. On the other hand, Harry is a bit more of a target man and Romelu can take a team on his back – you kick the ball up front and he’ll make something of it.”

Belgium meet England on Thursday night, where a win for either side would see them top the group, and the outcome of the game will surely hinge on whoever fares best out of Lukaku and Kane.
