Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has given his view, defending his players and suggesting all the furore over diving is misjudged.

Pochettino said the criticism of Alli was ‘too much’, adding: “Football is about trying to trick your opponent.”

The Spurs manager’s comments were criticised by former player and pundit Gary Lineker, who blasted on Twitter that diving is cheating and should not be downplayed.

Pochettino had warned against over analysis of incidents and also called out the use of VAR.

The defence of his players is admirable but even Tottenham fans have expressed concerns about his refusal to condemn Alli.

They not only disagree with his stance but worry the comments will bite Spurs in future matches.

Arsenal take on Pochettino’s Tottenham in the Premier League this weekend in the North London derby.

And Gunners fans believe karma could hit Tottenham in the match and have also hit out at the Argentine’s comments.
