Napoli have made a move for Pontus Dahlberg, who has been linked to Tottenham and Arsenal.

Coach of SSC Napoli Maurizio Sarri gestures during the Serie A match between SSC Napoli and Benevento Calcio at Stadio San Paolo on September 17, 2017 in Naples, Italy.

Tottenham and Arsenal could both be jolted into action over talented Swedish goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg.

Swedish outlet Fotboll Direkt reported in the summer that both North London sides are keen on the IFK Goteborg talent.

Now Napoli have stepped up their own interest in the exciting 18-year-old, who is already playing first team football.

Gianluca di Marzio report Napoli’s sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli met with Dahlberg’s agent after a Europa League game.

Napoli have now made an official enquiry over the shot stopper, who was recently called into Sweden’s under-21 side.

The Serie A leaders are considering loaning Dahlberg back to Goteborg in order to secure a deal.

Napoli may be allowed to continue their pursuit unchallenged, but this could also be Tottenham and Arsenal’s last chance to sign the shot stopper.

The Italians appear keen on tying up a deal in January, and the North London clubs have a month to prepare a challenge themselves.

Watching this video, it is easy to see why Dahlberg is so highly regarded.
