N’Golo Kante is keen to remain in London but is aware he will not be signing a new deal at Chelsea, making Arsenal and Tottenham potential suitors – and Hugo Lloris is a big fan, saying he is one of the best in the world in his position.

The 31-year-old has endured a tough start to the season in which he has only managed two games. Injuries are mounting, to the dismay of Chelsea fans. His current deal with the Blues ends in June, and a move is looking likely.

But he has enjoyed an incredibly successful stint at Chelsea, winning the Premier League and Champions League – clocking up 262 appearances in the process. That is, after Antonio Conte signed him while at Chelsea in July 2016.

Now, a reunion could materialise. French outlet Foot Mercato say that Kante is of the understanding that Chelsea will not renew his current deal – but he wants to stay in London. Tottenham and Arsenal are the most-obvious suitors.

Of course, Kante has clocked up all 53 of his France caps while Tottenham goalkeeper Lloris has been captain. Speaking in a press conference on the ex-Leicester star in 2021, Spurs skipper Lloris said Kante is one of the best in his position.

“N’Golo is one of the best in his job. He has had a fantastic development in the Premier League and with the national team. On a human level, he is always himself and he brings his unique personal touch to the team,” Lloris said.

Tottenham potential suitors for Kante: Lloris is a big fan of Chelsea star

Kante would be a sensational signing for Tottenham. While they are already well-equipped in midfield, Kante would eclipse the majority of their current options. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is easily first choice, one of the club’s best players.

Alongside him, is currently Rodrigo Bentancur. Also first choice, he is a level below Hojbjerg and while he is consistent, he rarely sparkles. A run-of-the-mill type midfielder. Yves Bissouma and Oliver Skipp are the club’s other options.

Kante is easily better than Bentancur, Skipp and Bissouma. If the Chelsea ace was to join Spurs, he would be a brilliant partner for Hojbjerg in the middle of the park. Whether he would contemplate a Spurs move, remains to be seen.
