Tottenham Hotspur want Alexis Mac Allister and Roberto De Zerbi is happy to see interest in the Brighton and Hove Albion boss.

Italian website CalcioMercatoWeb claim that Antonio Conte has now told Tottenham to make a move for Mac Allister.

Tottenham lack a creative midfield player to change games and a player with guile – just like Mac Allister – could be ideal.

Add in Mac Allister’s work rate and ability off the ball, and you can start to understand why Conte may be

The Brighton playmaker enjoyed a superb World Cup with Argentina, playing a key role in their midfield.

Mac Allister was simply outstanding in the World Cup final and it feels quite astonishing that a Brighton player is now a World Cup winner.

Just how long Mac Allister is a Brighton player for is up for debate though with clubs no doubt interested in luring him away from the Amex Stadium.

Brighton boss De Zerbi actually happy as Mac Allister linked with Tottenham

Brighton are very good in the transfer market though and usually sell for big fees; just look at Ben White and Marc Cucurella, for example.

The Seagulls paid £7million to sign Mac Allister from Argentinos Juniors and can now probably charge at least four or five times that figure.

Most managers would be worried about the prospect of losing star players, especially after seeing them shine on the world stage as Mac Allister did.

Yet Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi doesn’t seem all that concerned right now.

De Zerbi has told The Mirror that news of teams like Tottenham being interested in Mac Allister is ‘fantastic news’ for Brighton.

De Zerbi claims Brighton have to be proud and happy that their players are in demand and it is ultimately no problem for the Seagulls to defacing interest.

Graham Potter’s replacement added that he is not worried if Brighton sell players like Mac Allister, but is still hoping he stays put.

“It’s fantastic news for us,” added the Italian. “When there are other teams who want our players, we have to be proud and we have to be happy. It’s not a problem.

“When you coach such good players, the other clubs look at them. I am not worried if we sell these players. You have to be worried about replacing them with other strong players. I hope the club can grow up and next season we don’t lose many players,” he added.
