One of Tottenham Hotspur’s official Twitter accounts has trolled Ajax with a subtle yet cutting response to one of their posts in the wake of their upcoming Champions League semi-final tie.

The Eredivisie side sealed their place in the competition’s final four thanks to their superb victory over Juventus, while Spurs were confirmed as their opponents at the expense of Manchester City.

Shortly after Spurs make it into the semi-finals, Ajax posted an article on their Twitter feed about Spurs which also talked about several players who were at the Dutch club before joining the North Londoners, captioned “It’s time to meet our XXX-friends” (XXX is a reference to the city of Amsterdam).

In response, Tottenham’s @Spurs_India account sent this:

Which in turn prompted a delighted response from a number of Lilywhites fans:

Canadian rapper Drake is known for being a huge sports fan and over the years has taken plenty of photos with some of the world’s most famous athletes.

However, some people have been noticing that, shortly after being snapped with Drake, said sports stars go on to suffer a poor result, which in turn has led to talk of a “Drake curse”.
