Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Tottenham Hotspur are now in direct talks over signing Adama Traore from Wolverhampton Wanderers before the summer transfer window closes next week.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that Tottenham are now preparing a bid for the former Aston Villa winger.
Romano has added that Spurs have been looking at signing the 25-year-old for weeks now.
Exciting for Tottenham Hotspur fans
The Telegraph reported last night that Tottenham are planning to make a bid of £40 million for Traore.
Spurs head coach Nuno worked with the former Barcelona prospect when he was the manager at Wolves.

It is very likely that it is the Portuguese boss who is the one who wants Traore at Tottenham.
The winger knows the Premier League, can be unplayable and stoppable on his day, has pace, is strong and can deliver wonderful crosses.
Traore does need to work on his finishing, but Nuno will know that already.
The winger has scored seven goals in 142 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
However, we must not forget that Traore is still only 25.
The winger’s best years are ahead of him, and he could develop and progress even more.
At the right price, Traore would be a good signing for Spurs.
