Tottenham Hotspur beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 on Sunday – and now want to raid the Molineux club for winger Adama Traore.

Dele Alli’s first-half penalty won the game for Tottenham as he converted from the spot having been brought down by Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa.

The game saw Nuno Espirito Santo make his first return to Molineux having left Wolves at the end of last season, and he now wants to raid his former club.

Sky Sports claim that Tottenham want to sign Wolves winger Adama Traore before next week’s transfer deadline – but claim that Spurs want to take him on loan.

That seemed strange, but The Telegraph have now backed it up, claiming that Tottenham want Traore on loan with a view to a £40million permanent move.

Traore, 25, is a speed demon who goes past players for fun, and he could bring real pace to Tottenham’s attack alongside Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn.

Wolves fans have been taking to Twitter to react to these loan claims, and it’s fair to say they are absolutely baffled.

Some think there is surely no way Wolves would allow Traore to go out on loan, suggesting that Wolves shouldn’t even answer the phone if that is Tottenham’s idea.

Others think the move would be a ‘joke’ and would leave Wolves ‘in the mud’, believing this is a ridiculous notion.
