The Tottenham Hotspur man experienced a difficult campaign last season.

Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama sat down for an exclusive interview with Goal, and admitted that last season did not go at all well for him, suggesting that he was tired for large parts of the campaign.
The powerful 27-year-old joined Spurs from Southampton in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be worth £11 million, according to BBC Sport, and he has gone on to make 93 appearances for the north London outfit.
Wanyama struggled with both form and fitness last season. He made only 13 Premier League appearances for Tottenham and failed to make much of an impact for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
The Kenyan has actually been linked with a move away from Spurs, with the Daily Mail claiming that Pochettino has already deemed him as surplus to requirements.
The midfielder spoke exclusively to Goal, and admitted that he was far from happy with the way in which things went last season:

“For me it was a difficult season and I was tired for a long time because of injury. I was hoping to help the team more but it did not work out well.”
Wanyama is currently away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Kenya, and he will be hoping to return to Tottenham in pre-season, fit and raring to go.
As things stand, however, it seems as though he will have a lot to prove to Pochettino ahead of the new campaign.
