Tottenham ace responds when asked if he would swap Kane for Ronaldo

Tottenham Hotspur welcome Real Madrid to Wembley for their Champions League clash tomorrow.

Spurs ace Jan Vertonghen addressed the media ahead of his side’s clash with Real Madrid at Wembley tomorrow, and responded to a question asking him if he would swap Harry Kane for Los Blancos ace Cristiano Ronaldo, as quoted by popular football news website Football.London.

The 24-year-old Englishman has been quite sensational for Tottenham this season, banging in 13 goals in 12 appearances in all competitions, whilst the Portuguese superstar has scored just six times, although he has played three fewer games than Kane.

The Real Madrid ace has scored an incredible 413 goals for Madrid, since moving to the Bernabeu in the summer of 2009, a tally bettered by only Lionel Messi’s 443 during that eight-year period.

Kane though, has produced fairly impressive figures of his own – scoring 112 goals in 177 outings for the north London outfit.

And Vertonghen delivered his verdict on his teammate when speaking to reporters, comparing him to Ronaldo, as quoted by Football.London:

“They’re both unbelievable players. We’ve got to show respect to what Ronaldo’s done over the years and is still doing. For me Harry is one of the best no 9s in the world, if not the best and I wouldn’t swap him for anybody.”

There are doubt’s over Kane’s fitness ahead of tomorrow’s game, and Spurs fans will be praying that he manages to recover from his hamstring injury in time to line-up against Ronaldo and Madrid.
