Tottenham Hotspur face a difficult challenge away at Ajax on Wednesday night.
Tottenham ace Moussa Sissoko spoke exclusively to the Telegraph about his side’s chances of progressing through to the final of the Champions League on Wednesday night, and suggested that Ajax’s playing style should play right into their hands.
Spurs lost the first-leg against the Dutch side 1-0 last week, and they now face a real uphill battle, if they are to make history, and reach the final of Europe’s premier competition for the first time in the club’s existence.
They are, of course, still not out of the tie, and if Mauricio Pochettino’s men play to the best of their ability, they have very chance of making it through to the final of the Champions League.
Sissoko sat down for an exclusive interview with the Telegraph, and shared how confident he is that Tottenham can go to Amsterdam and do a job against Erik ten Hag’s side:
“I think this week will be the biggest of the season for us because, if we beat Ajax, we can be in the final of the Champions League. I think the good thing is Ajax is a team that likes to play. I think they will try to play, try to score and, for us, we know we have to score as early as possible. We will play our game, try to score one goal, the game will be 50-50. If we can score two goals away, we know it is going to be difficult for them.”
Tottenham will have to be right at it from the very first whistle against Ajax, if they are to have any chance of beating the Dutch side, and Pochettino will be hoping that they show the kind of form that they displayed earlier in the campaign away at the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona.
