Beckham was full of praise for Spurs man Trippier after his display against Sweden.

Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kieran Trippier has told ‘The Lions’ Den’ on England’s YouTube channel that he has been taken aback by David Beckham’s recent praise on Instagram.
The 27-year-old has excelled at the World Cup with England so far, providing near-impeccable service from corners and free-kicks as well as scoring superbly in England’s penalty-shootout win over Colombia.
His displays for the Three Lions in Russia has earned him praise from England legend and former captain Beckham on Instagram, who described the former Manchester City star’s “delivery” as “fire”.
Trippier was a guest on The Lions’ Den on Monday with presenter Craig Mitch, and he responded to Beckham’s comments by describing the former Manchester United and Real Madrid icon as his idol.
“He’s always been my idol since I was younger because of his set pieces,” Trippier said. “His all-round play, he’s won everything in the game. To receive that message – what a moment for me. To get it off my idol is something special, and one I’ll never ever forget.”

Trippier earned his place in the side as first-choice right-back after starring for Mauricio Pochettino’s side throughout the 2017-18 campaign, establishing himself as number one in the pecking order despite the signing of Serge Aurier.
He created nine goals in just 35 appearances last term and now has an unbelievable record of an assist every six Premier League matches – turning provider 15 times in 80 games.
Trippier is expected to start on Wednesday evening as England face Croatia for a place in the World Cup final – which would be only the second ever time England have reached the last two.
