The Tottenham Hotspur forward ended his eight month goalscoring drought last night.
Tottenham ace Heung-Min Son spoke to reporters after his side’s 3-1 Carabao Cup win over West Ham last night, and shared how appreciative he is of the Spurs fans, especially when they sing his name, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The 26-year-old has struggled for form recently, having not scored a goal since March before last night, so his two strikes against the Hammers will be a huge confidence boost for him.
Son will have a vital part to play for Tottenham this season, especially considering the fact that Mauricio Pochettino failed to sign a single player during the summer transfer window.
The South Korea international spoke to reporters after last night’s win, and expressed his gratitude to the Spurs fans for sticking by him all the way through his rough patch in front of goal, as quoted by the club’s official website:
“Finally I scored, and I was very happy. They sang for me again, and when I hear the song I always get goosebumps, and I’m really grateful for that.”
Next up for Tottenham is a trip to Wolves on Saturday, and Son will be hoping to help his team on their way to a vital three points against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
