Tottenham ace Harry Kane suggested that he has been unlucky with his ankle problems over the past few years, when speaking exclusively to Football.London, sharing what physios have told him about the nature of his injuries.

The 25-year-old has not played for Spurs since April after rolling his ankle against Manchester City in the Champions League, but he has now been declared fit for the final against Liverpool on Saturday, according to the Daily Mail.

Kane is widely considered to be one of the best strikers in world football, and he is vitally important to the way in which Tottenham play, but it could be argued that he has been rushed back to action too quickly in the past.

The England international insisted that that has not been the case, however, sharing how he has been told by professionals that his injury problems have been purely down to bad luck, when speaking exclusively to Football.London:

“Talking to the physios and talking to people about it, the last one especially, the tackle, if that’s any of the players that happens to, as I slipped and the tackle comes in at the same time, most players are getting injured there anyway. It’s not like I’m just running and rolling. In that case I’d feel like I’d need to do something about it. So far, every time I’ve come back I’ve felt strong. Hopefully I can be a bit more lucky and it won’t happen again.”

Despite being declared fit, the Tottenham striker will be well short of match practice, so Mauricio Pochettino might just be better served in bringing him on off the bench after an hour or so.

And whether he plays on Saturday or not, Kane will be hoping that his ankle problems are behind him.
