Tottenham Hotspur were beaten by Liverpool in the Champions League final recently.
Tottenham ace Danny Rose suggested that being surrounded by Liverpool’s Champions League-winning players during England training was a draining experience, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
Spurs lost 2-0 to the Reds in Madrid nine days ago, and in truth, they will feel like it was a missed opportunity, considering how poor Jurgen Klopp’s side were on the night.
Many Tottenham and Liverpool players immediately linked up with the England national team after the Champions League final, and Rose admitted that Jurgen Klopp’s men have not been shy in reminding the Spurs boys about the result.
The Englishman spoke to reporters, and admitted that it has been a draining experience, as quoted by the Daily Mail:
“It’s not draining coming to play for your country. It is a bit draining having lost last weekend and having to share the camp with Liverpool players. You are reminded every day that you lost the final and that was a unique experience for me.”
England eventually lost 3-1 to the Netherlands in the Nations League semi-final, before winning the third-place play-off against Switzerland.
And the Tottenham and Liverpool players who were part of Gareth Southgate’s squad will now enjoy a well-deserved break before they return to action in pre-season next month.
