The Tottenham Hotspur left-back has improved greatly under the guidance of the Argentine.
Danny Rose suggested that Mauricio Pochettino promised him that he would turn him into a fully established England international when he took over as manager of Tottenham in the summer of 2014, when speaking exclusively to talkSPORT this afternoon.
The 28-year-old Spurs ace made his debut for the Three Lions in March 2016, and he has gone on to rack up 26 international caps for his country.
Rose is now widely regarded as one of the best attacking left full-backs in the game, and he has come on leaps and bounds since Pochettino was handed the reigns at Tottenham five years ago.
The Spurs man spoke exclusively to talkSPORT today, and shared how the Argentine made him a promise in the summer of 2014 – one that he has upheld:
“He’s changed me as a player and promised me he’d turn me into an England player. He fully deserves all the accolades that have come his way.”
Rose has some important games coming up for Tottenham and England, and the fact that he is now considered to be a vitally important player for both club and country is largely down to Pochettino’s influence.
The Argentine is one of the word’s finest managers, and Rose has made it clear how grateful he is for his manager’s work at Spurs.
