The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has been heavily linked with an exit this summer.
Christian Eriksen’s agent Martin Schoots suggested that Tottenham have already rejected three huge bids for his client’s services, when speaking exclusively to the London Evening Standard.
The Dane is out of contract next summer, and because of that, it would be no surprise to see Spurs move him on this summer, rather than risk losing him for nothing next year.
His agent, Martin Schoots, suggested that Eriksen could have left Tottenham last summer, when speaking exclusively to the London Evening Standard:
“Last season there were three clubs, two English and one foreign, interested in paying a huge amount to Spurs. For the club it was then a no go area and for Christian not a must-have. I have the impression we are in a new situation now.”
The 27-year-old has proven to be a vitally important player for Tottenham, since joining the north London outfit from Ajax six years ago, and if he is sold this summer, Mauricio Pochettino will surely have to spend big, if he is to adequately replace the Denmark international.
Despite the fact that Spurs fans would be sad to see Eriksen leave, it might just be the best decision for the football club, especially if they manage to get the £130 million that Daniel Levy is reportedly demanding for his services (The Telegraph).
Tottenham will undoubtedly be made weaker if the midfield play-maker does in fact leave, however, and Pochettino will have a real task on his hands if he is to bring in someone of equal quality.
