The Tottenham Hotspur legend doesn’t think success can be judged on trophies.

Tottenham legend Ledley King suggested yesterday that Mauricio Pochettino’s men do not need to win a trophy in order to be classed as a successful side, and some Spurs fans took to Twitter in reaction to his comments.
The north London outfit have not won a trophy since they lifted the League Cup in 2008, but they were mighty close last season, losing to Liverpool in the Champions League final in Madrid.
Pochettino has strengthened heavily this summer, bringing Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon to Tottenham, as well as Jack Clarke, before loaning him back to Leeds United.
And many pundits are saying that now is the time for Spurs to start winning things consistently.
King disagrees, however.
He responded when asked whether it will be important for Tottenham to win a trophy this season, as quoted by the Daily Mail:
“No, it is important just to improve. We all want to win trophies, but it is not a given. It is very difficult. The team will be trying to compete on all fronts to win anything, but I don’t think you can judge the season on not winning a trophy. We will be able to look at the season as a whole and see what we have done. Last season was great for the club but we didn’t win a trophy.”

It seems as though many Tottenham fans do not agree with the club legend, however.
