Alan Shearer has claimed that the football Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have produced at Manchester City and Liverpool has been ‘totally outrageous’, as he told the Weekend Preview.

The Premier League legend added by saying that fans are ‘lucky’ to have such great managers in English football.

Both Man City and Liverpool, who have been the two standout teams for several years now, will battle it out for the title on Sunday at the Etihad.

In previous years, Man City have walked away with the main crown without any real worry heading into the final few weeks of the season, whilst Liverpool did the same when they ended 30 years of hurt two seasons ago.

But, for the first time in a long while, this game may well see the winner, come the end of the season, walk away with the main crown, as Shearer shared his thoughts on the two men in the dugout.

“What these managers have done for their clubs,” said Shearer. “They have produced some football over the last few years that has been totally outrageous.

“The standard of football that these two have given us has just been magnificent.

“We were lucky enough to see Man United when they won the treble and Arsenal the double in 1998.

“But these two, the way they have pushed each other. The way they have taken each other to the top to try and emulate each other, it has just been magnificent, and us the neutrals, it has just been brilliant to watch.”

Previously, dropping points, such as drawing a game of football or losing a few would still nod you towards the Premier League title.

But the level of performance from these two now is utterly ridiculous that even drawing a game is seen as a major defeat.

Both teams are hitting 90+ points and producing such quality that no other team can match the pace they are going at.

This absorbing race is heading towards its final few hurdles now and you don’t want to slip here because it may well end your hopes of becoming champion.
