‘Total disgrace’: Some Arsenal fans rage at incident during West Ham game

Arsenal fans are seething on Twitter after James Tarkowski avoided a red card for his high tackle on West Ham’s Jarod Bowen on Wednesday night.

This comes a day after Eddie Nketiah saw red against Leicester in what Arsenal fan’s think was a far lesser challenge.

VAR checked that Nketiah tackle, with the on-field referee, then being advised to check it on his monitor, and after watching one reply, he didn’t hesitate in sending the Arsenal striker off.

Tarkowski, on the other hand, not only avoided a card, but VAR opted against checking the incident.

This has understandably angered the Arsenal faithful who now want their club to use that tackle as evidence to overturn Nketiah’s three-match ban.

In truth, what might happen is that Tarkowski may be given a ban, but that depends on whether the referee saw the challenge or not.
